Bye for now...

Hey everyone...

I am officially off of xanga until further notice... I am leaving for college again, and I don't think there will be any posts from now until May at least. So, I pray that you all have a great year, and hope you strive to live your life to the fullest for God!

Joyful Beginning of a Novel 366-day Period!!!

aka HAPPY NEW LEAP-YEAR!!!!!

I trust this past year has been a blessed one, in which you have been successful in many ways, but also in which you have been shown ways you can grow in your walk with Christ.

I had a very different and very busy year in 2007, complete with my Highschool Graduation, going on a few trips, making more family memories, and spending alot of time with my church before heading down to Pensacola for my first semester in college. I have grown sooo much from even last January, but I realize I still have a looooooooong way to grow still! I am so thankful for the life God has given me!! I find myself being rather selfish sometimes, but when I sit back and think about all the things He has given me, I'm reminded of how blessed I really am!

I want to encourage all of you who read this post to sit back and evaluate your life as you enter this new year... what has God given you and what are you doing with what He's given you? Are you focused on what you don't have or are you striving to use everything you do have to serve God with all your might?

So, on that thought, here are some pics from my Holiday Break:

Now for New Years... we always set up a table filled with goodies and we eat all night while we watch a movie. FUN STUFF! We watched Ben-Hur this year... and had tons of good food!

So, what do you do on New Years?? Do you have a tradition? I'd love to hear it! :D

I am going back to PCC this Friday for a 2 week interterm course. Then I will begin the spring semester... and will fly around on a roller coaster ride until May when I will look back and say "wasn't it just January???" Time flies when your fighting to survive, I guess... ah well, life is good!!

A Survey with a different twist...

Here's a survey I found on someone else's site and decided to fill it out.... I appreciate whoever made it up... It helped me think through some of these things and reminded me to get my focus back on track... so, here goes:

1.What is your favorite thing to do with your free time? Hang out with family/friends, take pictures, play on computer with pictures, print pictures, scrapbook them… continuously repeat process.

2.What kind of people do you like to hang with? Encouraging, growing Christians that are mature enough to help me grow, and crazy enough to have wacky fun!

3.What do you like to do with them? Talk, compare ideas/ preferences/ cultural differences (like “coke” vs. “pop”), quote corny movies, and do random fun things.

4.What kind of movies do you like to watch? Old… clean, funny, well-written, with a good plot and good actors.

5.What kind of books do you like to read? Classics… clean, adventure, fiction.

6.Besides the Bible, whats your favorite book? Oooh… hard one. I like O Henry’s stuff and Sherlock Holmes…. But that’s only a start….

7.Now, what is your favorite book in the bible? Right now, I think Acts.

8.Why is that your favorite? Well, we read through Matthew to Acts for New Testament, and just enjoyed reading about Paul’s journeys and I like the way God used Paul’s unique laid-back writing style.

9.Do you have a favorite verse? A couple…

10.If so, what is it? Matthew 5:16 and 1 Corinthians 15:10

12.How do you think it applies to normal, everyday life? The first one reminds to never let our witness be tainted before men, and the second one was a reminder to me this past semester that I do what I do by God’s strength, through God’s guidance, for God’s glory!

13.Do you play a sport? I used to… and do a little in college

14.If so, what is it? I played softball (slow and fast) for 8 or so years!!! And I played soccer this past semester.

15.Do you like it? I LOVE SOFTBALL, and miss it terribly…

16.In your own oppinion, are you really active, or are you easy going? Is there such a thing as both? I’m easy going while I run around being active.

17.What version of the bible do you like the best? 1611 Authorized King James Version.

18.Why do you like it? Because to the best of my knowledge, it is the closest thing to the original Greek and Hebrew

19.If you could go anywhere with no worry of cost, where would you go? No cost? How about everywhere? I’d love to be a world traveler!! If I have to pick one place, Australia.

20.Why? because I love to travel and I love the accents!!!

21.Do you think God is calling you out of country? I don’t really know… I’ve had thoughts… but I know that wherever I end up, I am a missionary all the time.

22.In your own oppinion, are you a creative person? YES!!!!!!!! And I was glad that my design teachers agreed.

23.If so, how do you like to express it? Art: designs, computer sites, etc…. and creative writing (which includes jokes), and my outfits.;)

24.Do you like music? MOST DEFINITELY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

25.If so, what kind? Soundtracks, Orchestra, Band, Christian, Bluegrass, ANYTHING!! As long as it is well written and appropriate.

26.Do you sing or play an instrument? I sing and play guitar, Woodrow, a little piano, shakers, and anything I can get my hands on… it might not be pretty, but I’ll give it a try!

27.Why do you think God gave us music? To praise Him

28.In your own oppinion, are you a leader or a follower? Depends on if the group I’m with at the time needs a leader or a follower… more prone to lead, though.

29.If you had to lead, would you be terrified, overjoyed, or just not care either way? Either way….

30.Do you like kids? Yes!

31.What age? I prefer old enough to talk and walk (and laugh!)

32.Why? because I love talking to them and letting them know I think they’re smart enough to carry on a decent conversation with me… Kids are very smart!

33.What's your favorite food? Country cooking… and Mexican

34. ;^)Okay, now whats your favorite healthy food? *blank expression*

35.What do you think about healthy food? That it is healthy?? Haha, no I like healthy stuff.

36.Would you care if your mom (or wife or husband) suddenly went health crazy and cleared the house of everything that wasn't "good for you"? well, we grew up eating completely healthy, so I know I would survive, but I’d probably be a tad bit upset.

37.Do you like the city or the country? Country all the way!

38.What is your favorite thing about nature? It’s beauty!!! And the wildlife

39.Why do you like it? Because it is easier to think about God and the important things of life when you’re not surrounded by man-made noise.

40.What's your favorite season? Summer

41.Why is it your favorite? Beach, Amusement parks, sweat, and fun!!

42.What do you think of credit cards? They are convenient, but dangerous… I would prefer cash

43.Why? because it is too easy to get into debt when you are in a credit card mind-set

44.What do you think about the "once saved always saved" theory? Once you are saved, you are always saved… I think what many people miss is that simply “saying a prayer” is not salvation… it has to be repentance and total surrender to God. Once you do that, there is no turning back… and it is totally worth it!!

45.Why? see above

46.What's the craziest thing you've ever done? Gone to the middle of a pond in a make-shift boat made out of an old bathtub. Either that or paid two dollars to eat a chocolate covered cricket.

47.What's the craziest thing you want to do before you die? Go skydiving, float down the Amazon river, and visit as many places as I can.

48.What's the most important thing you absolutely want to do before you die? Whatever God wants me to do… and kill my flesh as much as is possible.

49.Why? so I can please God and be an example to the ones who come behind me.

50.Now without changing anything you've just typed, re-read your answers to the questions. What does God think of them? I think the words I typed are pleasing to Him… now I pray that the life I live can match my words.

*God Bless*
